The Search for a Sign
By Katherine
She searched for a sign
A sign of hope
The pain of unjustified hurt crushed her soul
It created a shift in her psyche like nothing else ever had
The hurt seeped through her veins like a insidious disease
Freezing her blood and turning her once warm heart cold
This is not how she wanted to live
Sadness and desperation had taken hold
She said one more prayer
A prayer for a sign
As to why she should stay
In this her most darkest moment
She tightly closed her eyes
She felt something move beneath her hand
She opened her eyes
And tears began to fall
Her prayer had been answered

DeleteThis is wonderful, reading from the narrator's viewpoint and, at the end, the impact of the little bird as a sign of hope. I do love birds.
